🔴 Pathogen Detected
📖 Pathological Overview
Citrus Greening, also known as Huanglongbing (HLB), is caused by the bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus. It is transmitted by the Asian citrus psyllid insect and has devastated orange groves worldwide.
🔍 Disease Symptoms
Mottled, asymmetrical yellow patches on leaves. Infected trees yield small, lopsided, bitter fruit that remains green on the bottom. Dieback of twigs occurs.
🩹 Cure & Treatment Plan
There is no cure for HLB. Infected trees must be removed and destroyed to prevent spreading. Control the psyllid vectors using insecticides or predatory wasps.
🛡 Prevention & Care Tips
Use certified disease-free nursery stock. Monitor for psyllids and apply systemic insecticides if vectors are present.
